Summer Reading Challenge 2025

Sum­mer Read­ing Chal­lenge: Col­or Our World

Patrons of all ages can par­tic­i­pate in the Sum­mer Read­ing Chal­lenge. Pre­reg­is­ter at dekalbli​brary​.beanstack​.org begin­ning May 1, 2025. The Chal­lenge runs from June 1 — July 312025.

Start­ing June 1, you can earn vir­tu­al badges (and a chance at prizes!): 

  • Young Chil­dren (0 – 5): Read books and par­tic­i­pate in activ­i­ties to earn vir­tu­al badges in Beanstack.
  • School-Age Chil­dren (6 – 12), Teens (13 – 18), and Adults (19 and up): Record time spent read­ing and­par­tic­i­pate in activ­i­ties to com­plete a vir­tu­al BIN­GO card in Beanstack.

WIN PRIZES! Free books, book bags, gift cards, Kin­dle Fires, jour­nals, prize packs with books & puz­zles, Blue­tooth speak­ers, STEM box­es, and more! All read­ing and activ­i­ties must be logged by July 312025.

Sum­mer Read­ing Events

Cel­e­brate the start of sum­mer! Kick off the Sum­mer Read­ing Chal­lenge with a fam­i­ly event fea­tur­ing Dave Hol­land from Beat­in’ Path Rhythm!

Join us for A Rain­bow of Rhythm and enjoy:

  • Inter­ac­tive sto­ry­telling and per­cus­sion fun
  • Face paint­ing, ice pops, prize draw­ings, and more!
  • Reg­is­tra­tion for the Sum­mer Read­ing Challenge
