Teen Advi­so­ry Board

The Teen Advi­so­ry Board (TAB) pro­vides oppor­tu­ni­ties for DeKalb Coun­ty teens (ages 14 to 18 years) to enhance their lead­er­ship skills and to make an impact in their com­mu­ni­ty by plan­ning and imple­ment­ing a teen-relat­ed project or pro­gram. TAB mem­bers are required to attend and active­ly par­tic­i­pate in month­ly meet­ings. Mem­bers will receive vol­un­teer hours for attendance. 

Expec­ta­tions of TAB members 

  • Reg­u­lar­ly attend month­ly meet­ings (dates com­ing soon) and noti­fy­ing TAB Advi­sors via Slack or Pre-Meet­ing Sur­vey when a meet­ing will be missed. (You will be required to attend at least one in-per­son meeting.)
  • Active­ly par­tic­i­pate in group dis­cus­sions, will­ing­ly share ideas, and com­plete com­mit­tee assignments. 
  • Act as a library ambas­sador, pro­mot­ing read­ing, libraries, and library services.
  • Be an all-around role mod­el of good teen behav­ior in all TAB meet­ings and in the community.
