July 29, 2019:  DeKalb County Public Library hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off renovations to the Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library.  CEO Michael Thurmond, Commissioner Steve Bradshaw, Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, and State Librarian Julie Walker joined members of the Board, Friends and patrons to kick off the highly anticipated renovations.  Click here to see coverage of the event.


May 6, 2019:  DeKalb County Public Library opens its twenty-third library, the County Line-Ellenwood Branch.  The 12,000-square-foot library is complete with meeting space, Wi-Fi, public computers, study rooms, cozy reading areas and a collection of more than 20,000 new books, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs.  Click here for more information.
